Hello,
I am new to LibriVox. Had my 1 min test approved but am having a difficult time finding Children's Short Works to read. When I open the the link in the forum it leads to a page that already has chapters or stories being worked on or are already completed. I watched the video on YouTube but that shows a different area to get works, that I am unable to find or obtain.
I am looking forward to beginning recording. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Please advise.
Thank you,
Suzabelle

Hi Suzabelle, I am not an MC or anything but project gutenberg has a lot of short stories and children's stories that are in the public domain. A good place to look with classic children's tales are under The Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson, many of these stories are not being done or already recorded. Here are the links to the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson books;Suzabelle wrote: βAugust 10th, 2020, 11:50 am Hello,

Grimm,

Anderson,

Also, LibriVox encourages us to do our own renditions of already recorded stories/books, so don't worry too much about recording stories that have already been done.
Here is a link for children'ss short stories. Hopefully that helps! I look forward to listening to your audiobooks!

Welcome to Librivox! If you are wanting to read in a book that is already selected, look in Readers Wanted: Books here: viewforum.php?f=2 Look for it to say Children or some such at the beginning of the title.
If you want to find a short story to read for this collection, Project Gutenberg is the best place to start. I would perhaps search there by "Fairy Tales" or "nursery rhymes" or some other subject that you might be interested in. Or if you know a children's story author, you can search by that.
http://www.gutenberg.org/
Or you can browse their children's category here:
http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/loccs/pz
I hope this helps!

Thank you! Everything is fine, except at the end you repeated the Librivox intro. "This is a librivox recording. Etc.," We only use that at the beginning. If you could remove that and reupload, that would be great!Knowsmore wrote: βAugust 10th, 2020, 12:44 pm Please let me know if you have any feedback for me

Thank you! Again, the intro at the end needs to be removed.Knowsmore wrote: βAugust 10th, 2020, 2:01 pm https://librivox.org/uploads/m8b1/csw038_rumpelstiltskin_tr_128kb.mp3

Also the volume is too high at 97.7 DB. If you could bring it down a bit, that would be great. (Just move the slider in the negative direction as if you were going to amplify).
Thank you, the problem should be fixed!m8b1 wrote: βAugust 10th, 2020, 3:08 pmThank you! Everything is fine, except at the end you repeated the Librivox intro. "This is a librivox recording.
