Please PL, my first recording so I was nervous, please private message me on the forums with any notes.
I am using NVIDIA RTX Voice to remove background noise and Audacity to record and edit.

Congratulations on your first recording!  Thank you so much for offering your rendition of the Cask of Amontillado!
I got your file alright, and will listen later on. It's normal to be nervous, but I also hope it was fun :D
Thank you! indeed it was!

I have rerecorded the beginning and end and have edited what you requested.

Heads Up!

I was actually going to do my fav. Poe story, The Cask of Armontillado, but I see someone got there first, so instead I'll do, "The Masque of The Red Death," a happy tale, and save the wine for Collection 42.

Upload. Thursday.

This is my maiden effort:

https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor041_manwenttoofar_benson_pbw_128kb.mp3

"The Man Who Went Too Far", by E.F. Benson.

The text is from Project Gutenberg,

https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/17893

The length of the recording is 60:55. The Checker app wasn't happy about that, but I saw someone else had submitted a story of more than an hour and a half, so I hope it's ok!

I'd like my name to appear in the catalogue as: Philip Wagner.

My goodness, these GhoHor collections are moving fast these days!

Here's my squeaker for 041, "The Monster of Lake LaMetrie" by Wardon Allan Curtis:
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor041_monsteroflakelametrie_curtis_ljb_128kb.mp3
Text: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=uc1.b2886801&view=1up&seq=451&q1=curtis
Duration 48:49

I suppose it could be classified as SciFi... but...
Gigantic whirlpools! Decapitations! Surgery, and other mutilations!
It all seems pretty horrific to me.

O BTW, to Dale...
Your pulp mag source is pretty cool. 8-)

Maxgal:

Yes, Pulp Magazine is an excellent source. The only warning I have is watch the publication dates. They have issues after 1924, and Librivox gets antsy about copyright.
Good Hunting!

Yes, it was rather horrific! Thank you for your recording!
One optional addition, there's a place and date at the start of the text "Lake LaMetrie, Wyoming. April 1st, 1899", which would go around 0:40 in the recording.

Thank you, cavaet! That was some great reading of the Red Death. Looking forward to your rendition of the Cask of Amontillado!
Just one PL note, there is extra intro/outro at the end. The actual recording can probably end around 15:00
