Carleton B. Case is well known for wit and humor, as the title of the book leads one to believe this book will follow suit. This book is in the public domain in the U.S. according to bibrec. (April6090)
How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Ok, you should be set now. I did a bit of clean up to the database and the posting.
I revised the title to match the book cover.
I revised the text link to be the main PG page. That's the one we need to link to. Readers may then select how they was to display the text.
I added a genre - Humorous Fiction
I updated the intro/endings based on the change of title.
I shortened the file name.
Let me know if you have any questions about my changes.

Thank you!! The changes you have made do seem good other than your giving it the genre of
humorous fiction.
I do beleive these are humouros non fiction stories told by the sodiers who lived them.
Am I positive of that? Basing my statement on the titles of the chapters & having read a.small amoumt of select chaptets. I plan on putting the chapters in within a few hours. Please take a peek and let me know your thoughts?
Linny,
Okay perusing the actual story to get title names is now finished. Out of politeness to the reader I also was going to post the word count for each section.
I came across a titled small paragraph that is not among the listed titles for book sections so now what? I will post the first one below:
FOUR TO THE GOOD
In times of peace Smith might have been an author who had drifted into some useful occupation, such as that of a blacksmith, but just now he is cook to the Blankshire officers’ mess. Smith sent Murphy into the village to bring home some chickens ordered for the mess.
“Murphy,” said Smith, the next day, “when you fetch me chickens again, see that they are fastened up properly. That lot you fetched yesterday all got loose, and though I scoured the village I only managed to secure ten of them.”
“’Sh!” said Murphy. “I only brought six.”
Thrown off my game is how I feel here, Now I am just not certain, please do share your thoughts with me on this? Do I post for the reader to read the paragraphs as they are before the next section/chapter.
Linny,
Yes I did inadvertently clog up the screen. Sorry.
I was attempting to change the date of death from the 0 to a question mark. Please make that change for me as my attempt was not a valid one.
Thank you,
April
If I might suggest something, I would say let me record the short bits and one-liners not in the table of contents and we could put them all in one section at the end called 'Miscellaneous' (or some such thing.)
