Congratulations on your first ever recording! and Thank you for offering it here

There's just one technical aspect to fix, and that is that the recording is in stereo, but it needs to be in mono. If you are using Audacity and it is a very easy fix! Having the recording open in audacity, go to menu Tracks and choose Mix -> Mix Stereo Down to Mono, then export again.

To set Audacity to record in mono in the first place, go to menu Edit, Preferences, and under the Devices tab, find Recording, Channels and choose "1 (Mono)" from the drop-down menu. Also when exporting as mp3, have the "Force export to mono" checked. I hope it works!

Everything else is perfect! So please mix the stereo recording into mono, export and upload the new file here again. Thank you! Of course, ask if there are any questions during the process

I still get it in stereo. Maybe the settings you changed apply to new recordings?
Don't worry about this one if you can't turn it to mono, I can still do it in Audacity. But see if you generally can record and export to mono from GarageBand. I am not familiar with the software and don't know how to advice you

I am on the sidelines observing the maestros of other collections as I try to manage my own first attempts at collections, and I am appreciating the challenge. Thanks to all the MC's who exhibit patience as we newbies climb thin tendrils up the steep cliffs. My admiration grows and grows.
