Hi, and thanks for your interest.

I will save this for you, but before I can assign this to you, I need to add you to the LibriVox catalog, so let me know how you would like to be listed -- real name, pseudonym or any nickname you wish. This is how you will be credited for all of your LV work.

Hi silverquill,

You can credit me as Tatiana Chichilla, my actual name. Thank you so much!

Great!
You have this section to read. Just click on your name in the MagicWindow to view your catalog page. This is where you can track all of your LibriVox projects, of which I hope there will be many.

WELCOME TO LIBRIVOX

Sorry, but this Section has already been claimed.
The only open section is 9.

But, first, you need to complete your one-minute test recording and have it approved.
I also strongly suggest that you read through the Newbie Guide to Recording https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording
This has a lot of useful information that will get you off to a good start. (Section 2 also has information on doing the test recording).

Thanks for your interest.

PL notes for section 10:

I listened to your recording and wanted to give you a couple of notes to keep in mind:

Volume needs to be somewhere between 86-92, although a mid range, about 90, would be ideal. You can check your volume using the Volume Checker (see instructions to recording). Your volume on this file is 84.4, so definitely needs to be amplified.

Adjustments to volume can be made 2 ways: Using the Audacity program, you can highlight the passage (or entire text) you want to amplify, click on Effects (at the top) and choose Amplify. Experiment with that a bit and you'll find the right volume. You could try it with a sample text first. The second option to adjusting volume is also within Audacity, but on the left side. You'll see a box with a mute button and a sliding scale. Highlight your text and click on that box. Again, you can check your volume with the Checker until you get it where you want it to be.

Before submitting your recording, please be sure to do a thorough job with editing. So eliminate overly long or short silences, clicks, background noise, rustlings and awkward or jumpy passages. Best to re-record to get a better result. In your recording, there were 3 places where sentences were bumping up against each other and a slight pause is needed: 8:12, 17:54 and 21:22.

It's absolutely necessary before beginning a recording to very carefully read the first page for instructions (under the Magic Window). There, it will tell you what is expected in terms of intros, labelling, treatment of footnotes, etc. In this case, you would have seen that we are not to include the Review Notes, so these have to be deleted.]

Also, at the end of your recording, please add a full 5 seconds of silence (no more).

Other issues to be corrected:

At the start, you are at 1 second. Can you please reduce that to a half second?
At 1:05 along should be across
1:35 on the mouth should be to the mouth
1:58 not only of the Ohio
14:24 as guardian
17:28 such headway should be much headway
18:34 suffered enough should be suffered through
22:20 Curtis should be Custis
