Section 24 done: 26:05 https://librivox.org/uploads/linny/cm3_24_mason_128kb.mp3

I also see that section 2/Chapter 2 is opened again? Can I claim that if that isn't an error?
It is indeed open and it’s all yours. Thank you for the additional claim.
Took a couple weeks, and it was quite a comedy of errors where I ended up recording most of it multiple times, but I finally got it done to a level I'm happy with!
Hopefully everything PL's ok. If you catch anything let me know :)

Thank you, Lynda. That was a tough section.

0:36 – word change - "Home Education Series Vol. III: School Education, by Charlotte Mason.

Since you need to record anyway would you mind changing the ending?

Hello,

I would like to ask to volunteer for section 31. I realize it has German, math, and Latin. I look forward to the challenge.

Thanks,

Thank you for checking in. Your claim period ends on the 13th. Let me know if you need an extension and if so when the new due date is.

I have a PD version of vol 4 sitting on my desk. I need to scan it. Once I do we can record that volume as well. :D

You did a wonderful job! Thank you.

Please trim opening silence to 0.5-1 second. If you use the magnifying glass tool you can zoom in and be able to see the 1 second mark. It's at ~2 seconds now.

Your overall volume is too low at 81.9dB. We aim at 89dB and an allowable range of 86-92dB. You have a couple of spikes so you won't be able to make a straight amplification. The compressor tool followed by amplification should work perfectly though. Here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fKYYj6HMZU

Here is an fyi for you in case you run across it in future projects. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sic

Thank you! This was my first project, so the technical stuff is new to me.

I hope the new compression and amplification works out. I must have had my speakers up too high because it never occurred to me it would be too low.

As for "sic", I did look it up before recording and understood what it meant. In this context, I imagine the child taking the examination misspelled these few words and they wanted to leave these errors in and just acknowledge them. However, I am still not sure how to best read them aloud. I tried to pause for each one to indicate it was not part of the sentence, but is there another way? Should I say "thus" since that's what it translates to?

Now that I have a new edit, how do I resubmit?
Thanks,
FranklinFoxx

Upload it just as last time with the same file name. The system will rename the prior one (just in case it's ever needed). This method ensures that the current file is always "on top".

If this had been my reading (and it never would have been, so thank you again for bringing your talents to it) I likely would have read as follows.

p.318 - The first of this novels was "Waverly", thus and so they are called the "Waverly Novels".

p.318 - "Marmion" tell thus of a battle, and how the Lord Marmion was killed there.

p.321 - ...so as to prevent them get, thus, hold of, and fortifying the chief tower, all tells, thus, of suffering from the intense cold, and death of the soldiers by scores.

p322 - ...and several young boys in ropes represent just as the Veientes. (Just as is also an acceptable definition of sic.)

p.223 - So it gets (thus it was written) broader and higher

p.325 - I likely would have ignored the one for Di-phong

At the end of the day, unless the BC gives specific instruction, the interpretation of the text is up to the reader. I think you did a great job with this section of text.

I will try my best to get it done this weekend...but if I am unable, I will let you know and may need a week's extension. Thank you! Yay! Looking forward to Volume 4; thank you for doing that legwork!
