I made a mistake. Reading the text more carefully as I assembled the act, the song can't be sung BY Cynthia since it is TO her. It could be sung (just chanted of course) by adrian (mellefont) which I think makes sense, or another new person.ToddHW wrote: ↑August 23rd, 2020, 4:40 amThat had been my thinking.Kitty wrote: ↑August 23rd, 2020, 3:59 am@Todd: that means Act 2 is ready to edit BTW considering this song in Scene 3 here, I rather think it was the musicians singing it and not Cynthia but well, I guess you don't want to wait for another reader at this point. And yes one could argue that the musicians play the music but Cynthia was supposed to sing.
Sonia
Thanks, Todd
I added a new section to the MW for it. It is for Adrian first if you and he agree - but if that won't work, then by a new person.
Thanks, Todd

Here it is: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/doubledealer_song_2_128kb.mp3
There are three versions in the file. The first is spoken as in poetry, the second is more chant-like. The third is sung to an improv tune that would not have been out of place at the time. I realize you can't use the third, but I thought it would be fun to record anyway.
I suspect you'll use the second one, but it's entirely up to you. I couldn't achieve a "chant" that satisfied me.
Best,
Adrian

why couldn't he not use the third ? I strongly root for the third, the sung version. It's wonderful. As long as you invented the tune, we won't have trouble with copyright and it really sounds good.adrianstephens wrote: ↑September 1st, 2020, 12:01 amHere it is: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/doubledealer_song_2_128kb.mp3

All PL ok, thank you so much
@Todd: my vote starts at 1:30 (in case this wasn't yet obvious enough )
Oh and Act 2 is definitely now ready to edit !
Sonia
AS long as you invented the tune.
