Smoke Bellew by Jack London (1876 - 1916).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/smoke-bellew-by-jack-london/
Smoke Bellew, or really Jack London, leaves his less than satisfying writing job in San Francisco for the opportunity to search for gold in the Klondike region while writing about his adventures there. "Smoke Bellew" is the collection of the resulting twelve essays / stories. ( )
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/5737
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Here are Sections 1 and 2. I assume from your not saying anything about the 24 instead of 12 sections that you are willing for me to divide the chapters. I am trying more and more in general to keep recordings below the optimal 40 minutes. Jim

1 PL OK!

5-10m is a tad short and >60m is a bit long, otherwise I trust the reader's judgement. My personal preference is in the 20-40m range. The former because listening to the intros and outros gets boring and the later because I am always losing my place and having to listen to the file again.
