While I do appreciate your enthusiasm, you are not quite read to record for a project.
We do ask that our new readers complete a one-minute preliminary test recording to make sure all of your technical settings meet our requirements and to identify any other recording issues before you start on projects.

You can find instructions on how to do this in the Newbie Guide to Recording. The link is under Point 2 of the initial post for each project. I strongly suggest you read through it -- lots of good information to get you off to a good start.

Once you have the "OK" on that recording, post back here to claim any available sections.

Thanks!

Hi, Tina!
Thanks for your recordings.

I didn't want you to have to wait, so I thought I'd give you some quick feedback.

First, they both pass all technical specifications!

There are just a few small issues to clear up, however.

44: The closing silence needs to be closer to 5 seconds, and you have only 3
Although we have no minimum at the beginning, it is best to have about half a second or so, but no more than one second.

Then there are several loud pops that are quite noticeable that need attention.

There is a small one at 0:6, but louder spikes at 0:39 and 1:38.
I'm not sure what caused those - perhaps bumping the mike or cord. You may have to record those sections again.

48: Silences are just fine, although that last five seconds isn't quite silent.

There is a chirp at 1:01 I wouldn't mention it except that it is easy to clip out and you have another correction to make whish is another loud spike at 1:54. While you're at it, take a listen at 1:18 and you'll hear a rather loud plosive sound. Again, this is just more to point out something that you may want to work on. I advise using a pop filer, or at least speaking a little at an angle an may a bit further away from the mike to minimize this effect.

Anyway, very good reading!
These are details to work out as you go along. It is good to listen to your final file once more before uploading because I think you will hear these thing.

When you have your corrected files, upload them again under the same file name and post the length and time here again.

All in all, a good start.
