Thanks, Rapunzelina. I'll make the correction you noted.

About the author, I think the story truly is anonymous. Oxford University Press has an unrivaled reputation for accuracy and I'd hesitate to doubt them on something like this. And it looks like the Gutenberg book you mention is actually attributed to "J. Sheridan Le Fanu and Charles Young and and Others."

The Truth, the Whole Truth, and Nothing But the Truth, by Rhoda Broughton, 26:04

I read this one as well from a print copy of Victorian Ghost Stories, Ed Cox and Gilbert

I see there are several of her novels in Gutenberg--I wonder if they are as good as this story.
I think that’s a recent anthology from the 1990s? Hathitrust has the story in 1873’s “Tales for Christmas Eve” which would be Public Domain:

Thanks! I wasn't familiar with this site.

Hi there!

I'm brand new to LibriVox, and I'm very excited to start recording. I would absolutely love to contribute to your Spooky Collection! Would it be alright if I recorded Edgar Allan Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart? It's one of my favorites, and I would love for it to be my very first contribution. In full disclosure, I just posted my test recording in Listeners Wanted, so I don't know yet if my equipment is up to snuff, but once it passes I would love to contribute

Hello Rapunzelina,

I thought you needed a sexy vampire lady in your life, so here she is!

The Tomb of Sarah by F. G. Loring (?-?)
Text: https://archive.org/details/bub_gb_wa8RAAAAYAAJ/page/n501/mode/2up
Duration: 41.05
MP3: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/ghohor038_tombsarah_loring_el_128kb.mp3

Erin

The author is new to the catalogue. I don't know that there's a wikipedia page, but perhaps just the bare bones from the story itself would work:
F. G. Loring was a lieutenant in the Royal Navy.
Off LV 25-28 March.

Part 3 was intentionally skipped.
I guess another reader could offer it for this collection if they wanted to.
