Latin and Greek?
Don't worry about that. I suspect the focus will be on English alone. You will love it!

I promise: NO Latin or Greek! The poems will be selected from The Temple, which is 183 pages long. At present I have recorded 20 poems and have reached p. 71. The file is about half an hour long. I am trying to plan the length of the sections so that none will be too long. My guess is that the entire project will be under 80 minutes long.

😅 Whew. On the other hand, I am still a bit confused what text I am supposed to be going along to, I went to the website and it wouldn’t load so I clicked “text only version” and it showed the table of contents on every page. Is it possible to find another document of that text that is more straightforward?

Each section will be about ten minutes long. Here is the first: https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/selectedpoems1_herbert_128kb.mp3.

There will be no Latin or Greek.

I found the beginning of "The Temple" in the text and updated the link in the first post accordingly. Hope this helps! :D
Cheers,
Ava.

The text is searchable but the process is cumbersome. My readings will be taken in order, though, so simply scroll down to the next title. There is one (I forget which) that appears to be damaged, but if you keep on scrolling you will find a legible copy of the poem.

Here is section 2: https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/selectedpoems2_herbert_128kb.mp3.

Section 3 is also ready: https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/selectedpoems3_herbert_128kb.mp3.

Keep uploading, Tom!

I have moved us over to "Going Solo".
Did you claim the cover yet? It's best done before everything is complete.
Cheers,
Ava.

Thanks, I'll do that in the morning. Meanwhile, I've uploaded some more poems: https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/selectedpoems4_herbert_128kb.mp3.

Next installment: https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/selectedpoems5_herbert_128kb.mp3.

Annise responded that my reclaim for the cover was approved, so I'll turn my attention to that for a while.

I did some editing of my headnote this morning, but after a few "decisions and revisions," I found that the text remained the same. I won't worry about it until later since I'm sure it is probably just not showing up at my end. We'll wait and see.

The HathiTrust text won’t load for me; I can’t proofread because of that. It just always shows five dots and never loads, so I can’t read it... bit problematic? :help:

Most annoying! It is a very unfriendly site for me as well, but after a while the dots (mine move about as if working busily) do disappear. Well, if this problem gets sorted out, whoever does the listening (I'd be sorry to lose you, Alex!) might find it helpful to have a list of the poems:

1. The Altar, The Agonie, The Sinner, Good Friday, Redemption, Sepulchre, Easter, Easter Wings
2. Nature, Sinne, Affliction (i), Repentance, Faith, Prayer, The Holy Communion, Antiphon, The Temper, Jordan (i), Church-Musick
3. The Church-floore, The Windows, Humilitie, Sunday, Avarice, Ana{Mary/Army}gram, Deniall, Christmas
4. Sighs and Grones, Vanitie (i), Lent, Vertue, The Pearl, Tentation, Man
5. Unkindnesse, Life, Submission, Justice, Mortification, Miserie, Jordan (ii), Conscience, The Quip

That's what I have done so far.

It occurs to me that I could print the poems from the source and mail them to the DPL. It's a clumsy work-around, but it could be done.

I think that's a bit much to ask. Maybe the connection problem of alex is just temporary anyway.
Cheers,
Ava.

Just now as I was reading, the five dots on the new page bounced for long enough to put me out of patience, so I refreshed the page, and after a brief cerebral hemorrhage, it came back on with the words showing. Just a thought.
