it's a sort of Luxembourgish expression and I simply translated it into English

indeed, quite unfeeling of him

and then complaining that his daughter is only going for the money, well...seems she is a chip off the old block

excellent play, Alan ! Loved it. So looking forward to hearing this all in context (and finally finding out who is marrying who in the end)
