skypigeon wrote: April 23rd, 2020, 9:48 amYikes--I was afraid of that--when I submitted the file I'd already adjusted it -2db, are you asking I adjust it a further -3db below that, or -3db overall?
I don't know what you did to the file before you upload but the uploaded file is at 94 dB, if you already decreased that means you had it at 96 previously  Maybe you can step away from the mic a bit if you get carried away again  Or set your input volume to less.
Correction made on the line cited, sorry I missed it.
have you reuploaded it ?
I have now :)

This version is dropped -5db from the original (the two I lowered it the first time plus the three you suggested). If it doesn't work, I'm tempted to do the whole thing again, paying better attention to my levels this time. (Will do that with Act 3 regardless.) Thanks!

I will adjust the actual volume when I edit all the parts together.

The big issue is making sure that there is no clipping in the audio file that makes the sound all fuzzy - that can not be fixed from the uploaded mp3 file. On the other hand, if level is too low then there may be a buncha noise, but that isn't as bad an issue since Audacity has some good noise removal tools.

Thanks, Todd

no don't redo the whole thing !!!! Not with a performance like this. Chances are high you could not do it as well again. In any case, it's perfectly corrected. Did you redo the entire line ? And the volume is now down to 91 dB. PL ok now, thanks. And waiting for Act 3...

Again, you're too kind :D I didn't redo the entire line, just the sentence in error.

Here are Minnie's lines for Act 2:

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/engaged_minnie_2_128kb.mp3

I had fun getting into her silly little noodle (though I have a feeling she is smarter than she seems)!

Couple of notes:
-At 7:36 I could not decide how I wanted to say "Cheviot" so there are three versions for Todd to choose from.
-At 8:15 I added a fainting sound in case Todd wants the end actions to be acted out.

actually, I think it was "noddle" ;) but "noodle" fits right well for Minnie's language style here  she plays awfully well the "helpless little child" card throughout the play, so much so that I would be on my guards not to trust her too much :|

great job so far, Jenn, thank you. But you missed one line:

> at about 5:29: (p. 63) "Parker, where's Mr Cheviot ?"

the rest ist fine :)

My eyes read it as 'noodle' and now I feel like the silly one
Oh well, glad it worked still!

Here is the file with the missing line at 5:30:

thank you, Michael, as always, excellent narration. Is it just me or is there a constant sobbing and weeping going on throughout the play by all people involved ?

Act 1 is already PL ok, but I have a few small notes for the other two acts:

Act 2:
> at about 2:21: (p. 63) missed line "kissing her" (this should be here twice, you only have it once)

Act 3:
> at about 4:01: (p. 83) missed line "Cheviot, writing"

> at 6:17: (p. 85) "and Mrs MacFarlane" - you said "Miss"

thanks

I think you're right. Also, quite a lot of reposing on bosoms.
