Sure!

How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or forum name, some their real name) and a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say, "recorded by [your name]" as that's how listeners will look for you. (Keep in mind that prospective employers, classmates, enemies, etc. can also find you using the catalog name, so be cautious if privacy might be an issue.)

You're in!

Here's your catalog page: https://librivox.org/reader/14080
You can keep track of your assigned sections there. (Click on Reader section details to see each section.)

To get to this link yourself, use your name in any Magic Window in which you have an assigned section. Open your name link in a new tab/window (if you click on it directly, it opens right in the Magic Window). ;)

Thank you. PL OK.

I know it's a bit strange having the Part 2 introduction mixed in, but it was too short for a separate chapter, and I thought it fit better here than at the start of the next chapter. :) You handled it well.

Did you put both into the same MP3 file?

They need to be two separate files. (And each will have its own intro and outro.)

I get the feeling G.F. Young didn't think too highly of Cosimo III. Just a hunch.

I started listening to this, although it still needs to be divided. I listened up through about 11:15. Here are the notes so far:

2:22 - Loud plosive: "and before anything"
3:44 - loud plosive: "so humble and submissive"
3:51 - loud plosive: "The 4 principal centres"
4:45-4:51 - long silence
5:01 - stumble: "and Niccolo"
5:36 - stumble: "to repent their action"
8:02 - stumble: "Fifteen thirty-eighty seven"
8:58 - pause: "the battle was over... and was too late"
9:03 - pause: "to do anything... and Piero Strozzi"
9:29 - Loud plosive: "of all the buildings in Florence"
9:56-9:58 - long pause, and a very faint sound in the silence: "cells have witnessed... piteous the cries"
10:49-11:07 long pauses throughout and a sigh: "added may to these sad memories" through "a despotism"
11:11-11:14 long pause: "kings of England and France of that time"

In addition to splitting this into the two sections, would you please listen through it again and tighten up the long pauses, fix the stumbles, and re-record the portions with loud plosives?

I will listen again when the file has been split and re-edited. Thanks! 8-)
