IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated). Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. The reader will record the following at the beginning and end of each file:
No more than 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning of the recording! START of recording (Intro):
"Chapter [number] of ANDIRON TALES. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
Say: "ANDIRON TALES, by John Bangs. [Chapter]"
For the second and all subsequent sections, you may optionally use the shortened form of this intro disclaimer:
"Chapter [number] of ANDIRON TALES by John Bangs. This LibriVox recording is in the Public Domain."
If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
Only if applicable, say: "[Chapter title]"
END of recording:
At the end of the section, say: "End of [Chapter]"
If you wish, say: "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
At the end of the book, say (in addition): "End of ANDIRON TALES, by John Bangs. "
There should be ~5 seconds silence at the end of the recording.
Example filename andirontales_##_bangs_128kb.mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is the section number (e.g. andirontales_01_bangs_128kb.mp3)
Transfer of files (completed recordings) Please always post in this forum thread when you've sent a file. Also, post the length of the recording (file duration: mm:ss) together with the link.

I have completed chapter 1 & did just put it in the mw.
Now I am hoping it is seen by someone who is willing to be the dpl for this thread.
I realize that it is a small project with only 10 small chapters total ( I did put the wc in the mw yesterday, for my benefit ) & I will wait to record more chapters until a dpl has stepped in.

Hi! Nice to see first chapter up! I think there is no real need to wait for a DPL before recording next chapters. Someone will come along for sure and if not, we will advertise in Listeners Wanted. So I'd say go on with the recording.
What a cute little story this is going to be! I was listening to this with my 4 month old who loves to "talk" to people and he was just chatting away with you while you were playing over the speakers!

-1:05 there is a little blip on small; like the 's' is repeated.
Not a huge deal and if you decide to leave it as, is I will make this chapter OK as well

Chapter 2 is PL-OK!
I did remove the "s" repeat so not it should sound much better. Thank you for noticing that and for the pl okay for chapter 2.
I absolutely LOVE that your 4 month old was chatting with me. Yes, with that thought I have a silly grin on my face so thank you for that info.
Oh yes, one more small note for you. I do not intend to record my voice credit for each chapter. Only for the first and last.
