Dreams Collection 2 - Stories and Poems.
This is a collection of 20 stories and/or poems, contributed by Librivox volunteers, pertaining to dreams. ( ~ Michele Fry)

• This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/dream-collection-2-stories-and-poems-by-various/

  1. There is no need to preclaim, but there is a limit of 3 entries per reader. Stories longer than an hour can be broken up into 2 or 3 files, each file counting as one entry. Please record and submit your story or poem with the requested information (see green text below).
  2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
  3. Once your story is submitted, please be on the lookout for your Proof Listeners notes, which if changes are required must be attended to for your story to be included in the catalog.
If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.[/b]

Level of prooflistening requested: special, I will follow along with the text and notate any "significant" discrepancies (standard, plus missing text, wrong words that change the meaning, etc).
Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening!

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hello Michele! It'll be very interesting to see what selections find their way into this volume!

Here's a very short short story - kind of like 100-year-old flash fiction.

'Life's Gifts' by Olive Schreiner (1855-1920)
Text: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/1439
Duration: 1.42
MP3: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/dreamscollection2_lifesgifts_schreiner_el_128kb.mp3

Thanks, Erin! PL OK. :D

And thanks, Amy, for my MW. I'll add the metadata as I go along, and if it doesn't "take", we'll know at catalog time.

Hi Michele,

Here's a poem for the collection!

'The Reverie' by Clinton Joseph Masseck (1886-1948)
Text: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=loc.ark:/13960/t6g16g400&view=1up&seq=15
Duration: 2.02
MP3: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/dreamscollection2_reverie_masseck_el_128kb.mp3

I don't think the author has a wikipedia page, so I took his dates from this site:
https://pennyspoetry.fandom.com/wiki/Clinton_Joseph_Masseck
I think he's new to the catalogue as well.

Hi, Michelle with two ll's, and welcome to Librivox. I see you've got the OK on your 1 minute test, and already know your way around the instructions on the First Post. Instructions differ a bit on each project but the principles remain the same. I've entered you into the catalog (which only needs to happen once) and I look forward to listening to your story later tonight.
