The screw up came in my cut-in-paste. The link above has the file ending in .mp3.mp3. It should'a bin:

If the sibilance doesn't necessitate re-recording, here's one for this collection:

Emily Dickinson - "I Like to See It Lap the Miles"
TEXT: http://www.bartleby.com/113/1043.html

FILE: http://www.soaringmountain.com/files/recordings/lap_the_miles_dickinson_kkv.mp3

Do let me know if you think it needs re-doing or if I've gunked up tags or naming conventions or any of those other newbie-type mistakes.

Thanks!

Kimm, I just had a listen to both of your poems. Unfortunately, its only playing in one speaker. You have it set on stereo but there is nothing for the other speaker.

In audacity:
To the left of the wav form there is an arrow down next to the word "foreign" click on it then select "split stereo track" Then delete lower track. Then select "Mono" from the same drop down menu. Phew that should do it.

How to avoid this from happening again? Record in Mono.

As for sibilance, its not that bad. Totally acceptable.

Hope this helps.

Esther :)

I'm not surprised - had to get at least ONE thing wrong out of the gate! I'll go fix those right away and upload them again. And it's nice to know that the sibilance is workable this time - that way I can concentrate on making it better next go-round so I only have one set of corrections to make. :)

Thanks VERY much for the feedback!

Okay - assuming that I didn't mess up the tags in the process, both should be good now. Same links as before.

Thanks again for the catch!

Very nice reading, gloriana. There's a problem with your source though; it's not a site we recognize. However, gutenberg also contains this poem (here, as a part of the Kiltartan Poetry Book, entitled The Grief of a Girl's Heart), but in their version, it's four stanzas longer. Would you be willing to add those four stanzas to your version?

Great poem, btw, I hadn't heard it before (and not too bad reading either ;))
