Thank you for the information. The reason I ask in this context is that the piece is a collaboration and I was wondering if it would be better to have consistency. If anyone else working on earlier chapters has a preference before tomorrow morning (CET), please let me know.

Is there anything you would like me to change, edit or otherwise re-record?

I will put thisinto the magic window for our proof listener to check out. They will post here and either say it is PL OK or give you notes on things to change. You will then make the changes and upload the fixed file with the exact same file name, posting it as you did here. That file will overwrite your first one. Do you have any more comments on the process? I have been enjoying your insight so far. :D

I don't know if David Y will see this but if you do, David, I pronounced papa PA-pa in an early Chapter.

Excellent synergy going on here. Since this project filled up so quickly, I will look around for another cute one like this to start. Keep going people! The world needs to listen to the stories of the Ladder. :D

Chapter 9 uploaded:

https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/ladderofricketyrungs_09_odonnell_128kb.mp3 6:38

I also uploaded a newer version of Chapter 1 - nothing different, except that I noise-reduced it, having noticed that it was really hissy.

Caro, your diligence is appreciated but once a section has been proof listened and approved as OK, it is better not to upload new versions because they replace the one that has been approved and so the whole thing will need to be listened to again. If you notice something to improve in your recordings, like I do all the time, note it and improve in your next recording. There is nothing else you need to do for this section. If however, we find something really really bad that the proof listener missed, post a note in the project thread and ask the Book Coordinator PLer for permission to redo it. I personally have done this and it is usually no big thing. :D

Oh... sorry! I thought since nothing had changed apart from better sound quality it wouldn't be a problem

A heads up that I will need to delay recording the outstanding sections for a few days as I have picked up a virus - fortunately nothing serious - and as I am asthmatic, any recordings would be ruined by wheeze and laryngitis.

Thanks--FYI, I'm holding off on Chapter 7 until I know if Chapter 6 is okay--this is fun, but I don't want to duplicate my rookie mistakes  Thanks!
