Hey there!
I have recorded portion 18 "The Palace" and would like to offer it for use.
This is my first recording for Librivox (or any audio recording at all, for that matter).
If the quality is good enough to be included, I would love to do more.

I would be very grateful for any feedback to help me improve.
Thank you!

Oh, my!
Well, I do admire you enthusiasm, but there are a whole lot of things you need to do before you're ready to submit a recording.
I suggest you first read all of the material in the introductory post of this project that explains how this all works. This would help you avoid a number of mistakes you have made. Then, please read through the Newbie Guide to Recording referrenced in point to. This has a wealth of information that will help you get off to a good start. But, here are some things that need attention.

First, you need to complete a one-minute test recording to check out your technical specifications. You should do this before making an actual recroding, so any problems can be corrected up front.

As you will read, the proper procedure is to make a request, of claim, for a section in a project BEFORE recording an submitting it. This keeps everything orderly as the project progresses.

There are several major problems with the recording itself.
First, the bit rate is incorrect. As specified, it must be 128kbps constant. Set it to this when you export within Audacity.
Second, the volume is extemely low at only 75 dB -- barely audible. Our target is 89 dB with a range of 86-91 dB
Third, the file name is incorrect. You will find the exact template under Point 8. And, it will always be totally lower case.
Also, pay attention to the silences -- less than one second at the beginning and about 5 seconds at the end.

Do all of the above, and when you have the official "OK" on your one mintute test, post here again. I'll reseve that section for you for awhile.
Let me know if you have any questions about the above.
There is a lot to learn here at the beginning, and I'm sure you'll soon have these technical things well in hand and be recording with ease.
