I just found this in a list of newly-liberated (into the Public Domain) books, and I'm excited to revisit it from my youth!
I'm going to read the dedication and "Just Before We Begin" (a preface) as a file, and then package the poems in groups of 5, since they're short.

This project is now complete. All files can be downloaded from the catalog page here:https://librivox.org/when-we-were-very-young-version-by-a-a-milne/[/color]

When We Were Very Young by A. A. Milne (1882 - 1956).

A.A. Milne wrote many poems to entertain his young son, Christopher Robin Milne, who appears to have been about three when "When We Were Very Young" was published. The book is a collection of 45 poems that celebrate a world and a point of view that a very young person could understand and enjoy. It became a best-seller.

Christopher Robin is introduced as a character in some of the poems. We first meet him in the Preface, "Just Before We Begin." In it we learn of a swan which he feeds upon a lake and who he has named "Pooh." Milne comments on the fortuitous rhyming of that name with the lowing of the local cattle, "moo," and intends us to believe that that led to the idea of writing the poems that comprise "When We Were Very Young." Later, of course, this name became attached to a rather lovable bear who had whole books of his adventures written by Milne over the next few years. We will meet that teddy bear in one of poems of this book! ( Mark Smith)

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Unfortunately, Anne, I've also accidentally uploaded the FLACs I generate... so please find and delete them.  :?
Delightful readings!

I would ask, however, that you confer with Anne about the script for the sections. What you record is not what is written in the reader's instructions. Some variation is allowed, of course, especially for this case where you read five poems consecutively, but I'll have to know what you intend to read if I'm to do a proper PL.

Looks like I didn't change them - Mark, could you just edit the intro /outro to match what you have read, that way you will not need to change anything probably

I confess I just delivered the intro/outro as I have done for the last, oh, five dozen books or so, without carrying the script into the booth with me.

Ann, I don't know quite what you are asking me to do. Am I editing the template, the notation in the Magic Window, or re-recording?

I uploaded Section 4, so I guess it's under interdict, too.

Hi Mark and Kevin
We do have standard instructions for various things, and the main purpose is to make the structure as listener-friendly as possible, and the PLing instructions do say to check the reading matches what's written in the MW
But like most LV things it's hard to be completely rigid. Group projects do need everyone to use the same wordings
When it's a Solo, and the soloist is like you Mark - highly experienced - I'm happy to accept that what you read is all that is necessary - so perhaps we can agree Kevin doesn't check the exact wording :D

I certainly understand. I would only point out that sections 1 and 2 do not make mention of a section number, which I assume to be helpful.

If that is acceptable, then we can mark sections 1, 2, and 3 as PL OK. I've not yet checked the poems in section 4.

Sorry, everyone!
I've finally sussed out that I did not announce the section numbers in 1 & 2. (I did not understand the issue before.) I've gone back and edited 1 & 2 to insert them. I checked 3 & 4 - they were already there.

So now I've uploaded 5 &6. They should be ok (at least with regard to section number). :D :D
