The Anzac Book by Various ( - ).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-anzac-book-by-various/
A collection of prose, poetry, jokes, special orders, et cetera written by the Allied combatants of the Gallipoli Campaign (1915.) (KevinS)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/anzacbook00unse/page/n8/mode/1up
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I would ask for the use of the shorter introduction for the many poems in this collection.

I'm working on setting this up.

I think we need to carefully think of the intro/outro wording. You say that on the poems, you want to use the shorter intro, which is fine. But are you going to have the readers say the section number on all sections? (I think that's a good idea.) And are you going to have them say the author's name (or whatever is given of it)? (Good idea, too, IMHO.)

So then, what will the disclaimer look like for (1.) a longer section, and (2.) a shorter section? Please write out your suggestion.

I assume you'll indicate on each section's notes in the MW which intro to use...

Long disclaimer

"Section [number] of The Anzac Book. This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
If you wish, say: "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
Say:
"[Section title as found in Magic Window] from The Anzac Book, edited by C. E. W. Bean "

END of recording
At the end of the section, say:
"End of Section [number]"
If you wish, say:
"Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
At the end of the book, say (in addition):
"End of The Anzac Book, edited by C. E. W. Bean"

Short disclaimer

"Section [number] [Section title as found in Magic Window] read for LibriVox.org" by [your name] or some variation on that, adding date, location, your personal URL, etc., if you wish.
Then read the poem.
At the end, say: "End of poem. This recording is in the public domain." and leave five seconds of silence.

Would all this work? I will put the title and author in the MW so there is no misunderstanding.

Looks good! On the short disclaimer, I think I'd put "end of section [number]" rather than "End of poem", but that's personal preference.

I'll get the MW set up and put those disclaimers in the first post, unless you do that before I get to it. :)

I agree with "End of Section [number]."

Man, getting the forum coding correct is the dickens! Please check the disclaimer instructions and see if it all works.

When entering it, I realized the short disclaimer had no reference to the overall book, so I put that in there as well.

I will double check and start filling the MW.

Looks good (although I'd skip the advertisements if it were my project). ;)

Thanks!

The advertisements are hilarious. (Well, they are funny, and they reflect the humor of the time, but they might be a little difficult to read.) I'll probably take this section.
