Here's a second one from me:

Title: “To Isabel M” BY Anna Cora Mowatt (1819-1870)
Duration: 2:40
Text URL: Originally published in The Colombian Magazine, 1845, page 15
https://archive.org/details/columbianmagazi00westgoog/page/n26/mode/2up/search/Anna+Cora+Mowatt
MP3 URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/spc201_toisabelm_kst_128kb.mp3

[Sorry for developing a rather morbid theme with my selections during hearts and flowers month, but I'm hoping to coordinate the release of these with a blog post about Mowatt's commitment to Swedenborgism and how that shaped her views on death and dying]

And here's my third contribution:

Title: “On a Lock of My Mother’s Hair” BY Anna Cora Mowatt (1819-1870)

Duration: 2:24

Text URL: Rufus Griswold's "Female Poets of America" 1849 : https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015012992304&view=1up&seq=293&size=150

Just when you thought it might not be possible to get any more gloomily Victorian than the last poem I submitted...

Hello again. I have recorded two poems by Jonathan Swift. Both come from the following source: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=umn.319510023073457&view=1up&seq=228. The first, "A Description of a City Shower," is found on pp. 78-80. The second, "A Beautiful Young Nymph Going toBed," on pp. 200-202.

The "City Shower" is 03:40 minutes long, the "Beautiful Nymph" 03:47 minutes long.

They have been uploaded:

Please identify me in the MW by my screen name, "chymocles."

But you read it so emphatically and that adds to the beauty of it!
I got a repeat of the word "spirit" around 1:40, hopefully it will be easy to just cut it out.

Welcome to the Poetry Collection!
Thank you for your poem! It is now in the Magic Window, and I have a couple of notes: one is about the volume, because it is too low. If you are using Audacity, a visual hint for good volume is when the waveform peaks above the 0.5 mark.
The other note is about the lack of the natural pauses between sentences. It does sound a bit unnatural, but if it is your artistic interpretation of the poem, then just ignore my comment :D
Let me know if you need help adjusting the volume! I think we can get away with just amplifying this one, but check to see if you can get better input volume from your microphone for your next recordings, rather than amplifying afterwards.
