The French Revolution Volume II by Thomas Carlyle (1795 - 1881).

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page here:

https://librivox.org/the-french-revolution-volume-ii-the-constitution-by-thomas-carlyle/

Thomas Carlyle, the Scottish essayist, philosopher, and historian, wrote this three-volume work, first published in 1837 (with a revised edition in print by 1857), which charts the course of the French Revolution from 1789 to the height of the Reign of Terror (1793–94) and culminates in 1795. A massive undertaking which draws together a wide variety of sources, Carlyle's history—despite the unusual style in which it is written—is considered to be an authoritative account of the early course of the Revolution. IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I have Sections 2 and 3 recorded but not yet fully edited. I've been distracted with other projects for the last week or so.

Hi Gill,

Probably time to advertise for a DPL in Listeners Wanted. If you haven't done this before, here is a link to instructions and a template

https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/ProofListening_Template

If you need help, let me know! :)
