Hi michellemo5!

Here are my PL notes!
I think you read great! And, in fact, I realize that some of the words in the text were in Latin---which made things more difficult! :)
I must say I am new to proof-listening---I just hope I can help in some way!

So the things I would point out are these:

00:23 – I hear “25” – it should be “15” (I know this is a Roman numeral!)

06:17 – I hear “throngs” – it should be “thongs” (with no “r”)

22:12 – volume suddenly goes up here. I have looked at the sound wave in Audacity, and the volume change is visible there. (So the recording has two different volume levels: a quieter volume from the beginning until 22:12, and then a louder volume from 22:12 until the end.)

24:13 – I hear “rigour” – you may want to replace it with “vigour”

43:25 – I hear “phrase” – you may want to replace it with “phase”

I am not sure whether to also say this, but a few words (what seem to me Latin names, for example, referring to places) seemed to have been slightly changed in your reading (things like adding an extra “r” in “Thysdrus”). I guess the listener won’t be familiar with those names anyway…! However, if you would like me to give you those words and where they are in the recording, please just let me know and I’ll gladly do so!

As I mentioned, I am new to proof-listening, so please, please, feel free to let me know if I made any mistakes! :)

I’ll be glad to also proof-listen again as needed!

Hello, Rennis

Are you still interested in PLing the last two sections?

Hello there!

Sorry it took me some time to write with my PL notes...
Again, michellemo5, I think your reading is good! :) And (again), being a new PLer, I just hope this can help somehow!

So here are my PL notes for Section 19!

00:25 – I hear “26” for the Roman numeral – it should be “16”

12:26 – here volume goes up. Looking at the sound wave in Audacity, I can see two different volume levels: a quieter one from the beginng of the recording until 12:26, and a louder volume from 12:26 to the end.

13: 17 – here, after a short sigh, you pause for about 4 seconds, and, after some sound (maybe you pressed some key on your keyboard) you repeat part of what you said: “because Maximian desired […]”

35:04 – I hear “A part of the story that has been concealed” – you might want to read that sentence again without “that”. I know that is a small detail, but adding “that” makes “has been concealed” a subordinate clause---while it is a main clause. So, as a listener, hearing “that” makes me expect a different sentence structure (and intonation); but when I hear that the sentence ends, this makes me think I have missed something. However, this may be just me somehow! So please feel free to ignore all this if, in your experience, the sentence is already OK as is! :)

If you would like to change something, I'll be very glad to prooflisten your new recording also for this section! :)

Hi Leni!

Sorry it took me some days before I was able to give my feedback for section 19... I just gave my PL notes for section 19! :)

So, if this is OK, now my idea was to wait and see if michellemo5 would like to send two new recordings: that is, her reuploads for sections 18 and 19! I'll be glad to listen to those two again and send new feedback (if needed) again!

Would that be OK, Leni? :)

P. S.: By the way, I did have some doubts about whether to point out or not some of the things I heard (on the recording) when PLing... If you have a chance and would like to give me some feedback on those, it'd be very much appreciated---I am still a new PL! :) Many thanks in any case!

Hello, Rennis

Thank you, I think your notes are fine. :)

But I also meant to ask if you will listen to section 21 that has been uploaded more recently
