I've finished and uploaded section 17 ("Huxley Rustem").

Lynnet, I listened to my sec 17 the other day. Couldn't hear it well in my wav file, but the mp3 sounds awful to my ears. Just discovered that distortion is caused by using recommended record volume setting. Dropping it by 4dB makes the sound much better.
So I'd like to re-record and submit probably by Friday 5/8. Probably too late to save PL some effort, but if it's okay I'll go ahead. Jeff

Thank you for claiming.triumphovermachine wrote: ↑May 5th, 2020, 6:52 pm I would like to claim sections 10 and 11, if they are available
You will see that is a long chapter and I would like you to split it in to two files, approximately the same length, but exactly where you split it is up to you. Be sure each file has the appropriate intro and outro.
Well I wouldn't want to double the work. Maybe it was my ears. Or my tablet's tinny speaker. We'll leave it as is then. Jeff

Section 7
The overall volume is too low. Please amplify by ~16dB https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_z607awyLw
However, since some parts are loud (probably where you patched in corrections) you will probably find you can't do this without clipping and will need to compress the file https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ3lOTDsN6c
You can check the specs of your file using Checker https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker We aim for 89dB, but 86-92dB is usually acceptable.
When you re-upload, please be sure to include the leading 0 in the file name _07_
