Delay that order, please. I'd like 2, 3, 4 instead.
LBJ, not my favorite, but I shall try to convey the mindset of the time as earnestly as I can.

I've recorded my sections 2, 3,4 and will edit them shortly. I've also been poking around through other sections, and what strikes me is that nowhere does it mention LBJ. I think it would be of great benefit if you would include in your summary something like:

On July 28, 1967, the President of the United States, Lyndon Baines Johnson, established this Commission . . . . .
Perhaps even some hint somewhere that this Kerner Commission set the groundwork for what we now think of as LBJ's "Great Society", sometimes called the "Great Welfare Society".

This is an important project for people to have access to. Thank you for putting it up.

Thanks! I had put a little note on the immigration project as to which president it was (Truman), but didn't on this. I've now done so in the database entry to go to the catalog.

I am not trying to give a whole history lesson in the intro/summary (heck, I don't even know what the Great Society is myself - time to watch some documentaries!), so I'll leave that part out. :)

Moving this to Readers Wanted!

Not many have heard of the Kerner Commission, I suspect, but most know about the "Great Society". It might garner more interest in the report knowing the affiliation. But what do I know.

Thanks for the section, Michele. I'll PL it when I can. Out-of-town family is still in town (although not at our house), so I don't know my schedule.)

Thanks, Colleen! You're in for 6 and 9.

Please, I'd like to be assigned sections 7 & 8 (Tampa and Cincinnati)
