In the future, people will be fitted with clockwork devices in their heads which, among other things, allows them to travel through time. Well, it seems one of these devices has frizzed-out, and a Clockwork man appears in the middle of a cricket match in 1923. The Clockwork Man by E.V. Odle is believed to be the first instance of a human-machine cyborg appearing in literature. ( Mark Nelson)
Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard
IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated). Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Just want to mention as folks peruse this post that I am happy to work with new or inexperience proof listeners. If you’ve considered trying PLing, please don’t hesitate. You don’t have to commit to DPL either; I’m fine with a team as well.

This is going to be my book for the 2020 Popsugar prompt for a robot/cyborg/AI character. heh
And it has a three-word title.
oh! Another PopSugar reader?
I've got the 3-word title covered from the unread books in my room, but I'll be on the look-out from LibriVox for an anthology, a Bechdel test-passer, a made up language, and I may just stretch the published-in-2020 with one of my solos. I'm pretty sure I'm out of luck finding a book here with social media featured. ;D
