Can I claim long-suffering Sostrata again? She's so politic in her deference to husbands.

I'll play Phrygia, maid-servant to Bacchis, Act 4?

alanmapstone wrote: December 7th, 2019, 1:43 pm The cast listing in Gutenberg of Dromo as "son of Clinia" is I think a misprint. Clinia is young and apparently unmarried. The Wikipedia article on this play lists Dromo as "Clinia's slave" which makes more sense as he and Syrus usually appear together.
Agreed. This transcript of the original http://www.thelatinlibrary.com/ter.heauton.html
has:

SYRVS SERVOS
DROMO SERVOS

ie slaves in both cases.

Todd, what should I read for Dromo in the dramatis personae?
What about the prologue? Do you want that?

MichaelMaggs wrote: December 7th, 2019, 10:30 am Maybe I could do the narration, as long as you don’t want the editor’s notes. I’ll work on the title...
Delighted you want to read the narration!

What I want at the beginning is the Dramatis Personae, (Skip The Subject - too many spoilers), do read The Title of The Play, (Skip The Summary of .... - again spoilers), and then read The Prologue. None of the linked footnotes ever.

Thanks, Todd
For Dromo, read "servant" as I corrected in the MW.

Thanks ,Todd

Todd, sorry, must have been tired yesterday when I asked again about the Terence prologue. I asked it in the wrong thread. Actually I meant to enquire whether you need the prologue for The Conscious Lovers.
