Sounds like a good move, especially as there were cookies involved! :D

No cookies in today's recipes - cheesecakes are on the menu though!

Thanks for PLing 15 - Section 16 now uploaded.

It's cream (but no ice!) all the way with this section - probably my least favourite of the entire book.

Almond milk/cream/yogurt is getting rather popular here especially among the mature crowd who have trouble digesting cow's milk (lactose).

With reference to almonds, you might be interested in an article from The Guardian earlier this year highlighting the environmental cost of producing that particular crop.

And we mustn't forget the bees ...

The bees and the water usage are my concerns. Thanks for the link. Interesting article.

Thanks for PLing 20 & 21 - Sections 26 & 27 now uploaded.

I think that these two sections prove that Mrs Glasse did indeed test the recipes that she compiled.

Unfortunately, after hitting the wine in the first section here, she must have then sampled the brandy and the cyder in the second.

And then, wouldn't it be a laugh to randomly sequence the pages?

I tell you - even *I* could've drunk a Guinness after working my way through that lot! Image

Artificial wines? Sounds like something that would be illegal in France. I think of Guinness more as a desert (wine).

Yes - I think that the French would have been a tad upset had English artificial wines made their way over the Channel!! Mind you, they would probably have also considered English cooking a Crime Against Cuisine in Mrs Glasse's day! :)

Crikey! If I had a Guinness for afters, I'd never have room for me treacle pudding and custard or me sticky toffee pudding (or both)!!
