I think that these two sections prove that Mrs Glasse did indeed test the recipes that she compiled.
Unfortunately, after hitting the wine in the first section here, she must have then sampled the brandy and the cyder in the second.
And then, wouldn't it be a laugh to randomly sequence the pages?
I tell you - even *I* could've drunk a Guinness after working my way through that lot!

Yes - I think that the French would have been a tad upset had English artificial wines made their way over the Channel!! Mind you, they would probably have also considered English cooking a Crime Against Cuisine in Mrs Glasse's day!
Crikey! If I had a Guinness for afters, I'd never have room for me treacle pudding and custard or me sticky toffee pudding (or both)!!I think of Guinness more as a desert (wine).
