no stress, you still have plenty of time. We are not about to finish this project in a week or two.
I have to learn how to set the volume thing, I thought it was right this time.
yes there is no really "setting" in Audacity. The volume may change with every recording you are doing, sometimes you speak louder sometimes less loud. That's why Checker is so helpful, you only have to check the volume there and then adjust accordingly. :) If you need any help with that, just let us know.

maybe the uploader crashed in mid-way. Already happened to me. In any case, I have it now and it's PL ok. Thank you :)

never heard of that brazen head before, how intriguing. A very interesting chapter. And I think I would have thrown Miles out of the window for that deed  What a let-down !

Thanks, Jim, totally PL ok again. And also thanks for your PL job on my section :9:

it was actually section 44, but you uploaded with the correct filename :) thank you, and wow this was a lengthy section. What a feat ! And the battle scenes were action-packed and well narrated.

I only have a few spots where the pauses are a bit too long, could you cut them a little bit please, so they get under 1.5 seconds at least.

> at 1:09-1:11: (p. 309) between "his grasp forever" and "the country was": long pause
> at 3:59: (p. 310) repeat "who was close behind" – can be cut
> at 10:25-10:28: (p. 314) between "he had received" and "every post": long pause
> at 19:46-19:48: (p. 318) between "the battle had really begun" and "it was not long": long pause

the rest was perfect, thank you :)

Sonia

thank you, all the places are corrected now and the spaces trimmed. Unfortunately now your volume fell to under 86 dB. Could you just reupload once more with a bit more amplification ? Doesn't need much, just so you get at least over 86, preferably to 87.

Thanks

@Devorah: will listen to Arthur soon ! I love those stories too :9:

8-) yes ! wonderful stories, and beautifully narrated. Thank you so much, Devorah. I didn't know Sir Galahad also had to pull out a sword from a stone. Must have forgotten that detail

The entire section is straight PL ok. Excellent job.

very well done, Marcela, and good job on all the foreign names  And the narration was fluent and flawless ! Unfortunately you missed some part of the text to complete the story :(

> at 12:44: (p. 95-96): you forgot to record the last two pages of the section. Sometimes the paintings are put inside one chapter, so I admit this is rather confusing. That is why I wrote "9 pages" in the Magic Window, to help the readers. So far you only recorded 7 pages. The story continues a little bit more. ;)

> the volume is below our accepted limits (only 84.7 dB) – could you please amplify with +5 to get close to the average of 89 dB ? Well actually, this may change again with the added 2 pages you will still record, so the best thing is to check yourself before you upload. For this I recommend the Checker: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker it checks the volume of your finished mp3 file. For example, if you see you only have 84 dB, then you simply have to amplify with +5 to get 89, and so on. Quite easy to handle.

Thank you

Sonia
OMG! I will fix it, but it will not be until the weekend, as this week is packed from 9 to 9. I have to learn how to set the volume thing, I thought it was right this time.
My strong recommendation is to find and use the Checker utility as Sonia has suggested, because that enables you to check your own volume (and other settings) until you get it right. It's almost certain you'll need to use Amplify to increase your volume, as it's not just a matter of 'how to set the volume thing' but of just including the volume check, followed by Amplify as part of what you do. You'll probably also need to use Noise Cleaning after Amplify because (as you have already found) Amplify increases background noise as well.
If any of this sounds like double Dutch and you need help, let us know.
Thanks Jane!

Ok, here goes section 15 again. I didn't make any changes whatsoever to the body that was already recorded, just added the pages that were missing at the end and amplified as requested. I hope it is right this time around. Sorry about the double work of listening to it again.

Yes, and what's more, this stone had been floating downriver for the last year or so, if I remember correctly. (This except didn't mention that.)
