I love it too! When we were growing up my sister and I did our own full-length play (75 pages long) which we wrote ourselves and played all the characters. That was a challenge!
how cool !!!!! pity we can't do that for LV. My sister used to read to me aloud and she read the whole book to me, with different voices for all the characters. I always rooted for Bois-Guibert, somehow he could have become a better man given the chance. A tragic character.thestorygirl wrote: ↑October 22nd, 2019, 10:53 am I love it too! Sonia,
Thank you for reserving most of the sections for me that I claimed. Only the 1 didn't turn out to be mine which is okay with me. I will most happily take part in this one as it wouldn't feel right to me not to as I have read sections in all of the prior History of the World books.
April
Could I have 39 and 40 also, please? A change from all non fiction.
regards
Jane Bennett

Section 11 - The Converted Britons (time 2:15)

This painting is in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. It looks much better in colour. Like a lot of Pre-Raphaelite paintings it uses very vivid colours.

thanks for the link ! Indeed the colours are startling and one can see the details better. I often check up on the paintings in this series. I could (and often did) spend afternoons in art galleriesThis painting is in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. It looks much better in colour. Like a lot of Pre-Raphaelite paintings it uses very vivid colours.
Hearing the very short title "Section 11 of England" feels extremely strange now after all the lengthy titles that we had so far in the series.
