Where I live is safe from bushfire but the whole city has a dense layer of smoke haze full of the smell of smoke and fine particles of ash. It's not pleasant but compared to others I'm fine

It's been a bit of a gloomy summer, hasn't it? It seems that the smoke was much worse in Melbourne than it was in Sydney, though we've now had it for a month or more. We are now having heavy rain (very welcome), but it still smells of smoke!
