13 and 14 are both PL OK.

I'm not sure you care to know and pronunciation is not a LV requirement but there is an unusual pronunciation for the word forecastle. I found it of interest so I though I would pass it along.

I'm well aware of fo'c'sle. In my experience it's a salty nautical term - one that's common to people bred on the water, but not so obvious to landlubbers. While the person speaking is a naval person and would assuredly use fo'c'sle, my thought is that a nautical enthusiast would know forecastle but a lubber might not be acquainted with fo'c'sle. In the interest of speaking to both groups, I choose forecastle.

Narration sometimes sets up these little quandaries. I'm going to use the weasel words found in every corporation prospectus these days. Past performance is no guarantee of future performance!

And now ... my words return to bite me!
In Chapter 16, Jane now tries out "foke's'le" on page 244. I gnash my teeth, but use it!

Chapter 15, and the survivors reminisce about their narrow escapes from enemy fire!

And Chapter 16 reveals the good guys went to Davy Jones gloriously, and their memory will not be forgotten!

The book is (nominally) done. Amen.

Chapter 15 is PL OK. It's far past bedtime so unfortunately 16 will need to wait for the morning.

Chapter 16 has one PL note:

Missing text at the ending - "End of Blake of the "Rattlesnake", by Frederick Thomas Jane. "

After re-reading my initial summary, I'm ready to go with it, with the tweak that "I may change this later" is struck! :D

By the way, I think I will construct a cover for the book. The one from the original book is execrable.
