Hello,
I would like to claim Chapter 14: Why The Monkey Still Has A Tail
Also, this will be my first time narrating for Librivox, as well as my first time using Audacity.
Thanks,
J.S.

Thanks Scott, I’ll put this in the MW to be checked, but could you also please post a link to it in the listener’s forum and mark it as your “one minute test” for checking? The same file is fine, but I’ll need the expert listeners over there to check the technical specs on the file, since it’s your first file. Thanks for your enthusiasm!
The DPL here will check the file for volume and text accuracy, but the project coordinators usually assume your computer and software setup are already checked in the other forum.

Submitting a one-minute test would be helpful, but I can say now that this recording's volume is too low. It will need to be bumped up by at least 12dbs.ScoDoubleT wrote: ↑October 20th, 2019, 7:03 pm FT from Brazil by E. S. Eells

Welcome to you and we look forward to your being active here.

This recording is fine to submit for checking - it doesn’t need to be a new file, but we can’t OK it unless it’s had everything checked - bit rate and all that stuff. I can’t check that, so it needs to go to the listener’s forum for approval.

I was able to test this recording and you meet the technical specs except for volume. As I posted earlier, it needs a good boost in volume.ScoDoubleT wrote: ↑October 20th, 2019, 7:03 pm FT from Brazil by E. S. Eells

Thanks Kevin! Can you please post the target dB range and how much amplification will be needed to get there?

Sure. As mentioned above, the volume needs to come up at least 12db.
The target range is 86 to 92db.

FT Brazil by Eells, Ch 14, How The Monkey Kept His Tail
Volume should be at 29 db now, if I've figured that part out on Audacity properly. I'll also shoot it over through the "One Minute Test" shortly.
Thanks everyone!

Kevin has done the necessary checking, you don’t need to do a separate 1 minute test.
