PL Notes Section 38

Intro. 3 seconds should be .5 to 1 second
29:42 the supply is ever equal to the demand, you say "never"
40:52 repeat, I do know that neither hardship nor danger.... through to "soul to the devil"

A very looooong verbose tirade, but it makes sense. Your pace starts out slow but picks up noticeably (and nicely I thought) in the last half.

It looks like poor Bill has saddled himself with all the longest bits. If I may be so bold, let me see if I can muster the "gall" to tackle both parts of "Speaking of Gall". They have been sitting quietly waiting to be claimed, it seems a shame to leave them so.

You're a good man, Jim! :clap: :clap:

I am delighted that you'll take these two sections. I'm sure you'll do a good job on them!
Thanks!

Section 38 is PL OK. I can't get into the MW to change the time and status. Don't remember if I ever could but I thought so.

Bill, I've PLed section 36:

Very expressive reading, and there are a few things:

1:04 I heard "but turn it loose" sb but turning it loose
3:09 lash sb splash
6:43 spawned in a place sb spawned in a palace
10:19 soul at an immaterial thing sb soul is an immaterial thing
11:56 that swells the mad glory sb swells with the mad glory
15:17 ancient Europe sb ancient Egypt
16:38 that soar sb that sear
21:35 while holding the hounds sb while holding with the hounds
26:35 fin de sekula sb fin de see eckl
29:30 contracts into sb contracts entered into
30:48 brides and bluff sb bridles bluff
36:16 fstate sb state
44:26 let a fearously face sb let him fearlessly face

Additionally, there are two places (23:48 & 36:10) where your pronunciation of hypocrisy sounds like hie pocrisy. I don't think I've ever heard it pronounced that way before. Sb hip ocrisy I believe.

Finally, there isn't a consistency in how you're saying quote and unquote when a passage is in quotes. Sometimes you say it, other times not.

Bill, I've PLed section 36:

<snip>
Rita, you did thorough and commendable job of PLing this section.
Great job :clap: A++

I am have made emendations to most of the things you pointed out. A couple, no.
The reader has the last say-so in minor things like pronunciation.

I am very grateful that you took on this task. I hope it wasn't too much of a burden.
