While I am grateful to have these fine recordings, I would just request that in the future you follow the LibriVox protocol: Claim by section Number, and wait until your request is acknowledged and assigned before submitting recordings. There are a lot of good reasons for that.

But, nonetheless, it does work in this case and I am happy to add this to the MW Ready for PL.

Ugh, sorry I disappeared! Work travel took over my life. I see several readers stepped in and covered for me, but I have section 25 almost ready to go, and I see it has not been re-claimed yet. I have 34 up next, since it's not yet re-claimed again, so if you'll let me :) I'll love to claim it again!

section 186 - https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaesop_186_aesop_128kb.mp3
Track Length 2:21.92 (m:ss.ss)

section 187 - https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/fablesofaesop_187_aesop_128kb.mp3
Track Length 2:26.18 (m:ss.ss)

Hope they're okay,
please let me know if there is anything I can improve upon.
Again, lovely reading Tasniim!
I've marked 186 PL OK but cannot pass 187 until you make the final silence a full 5 secs - it's really not close enough. Check my post below for an easy way to confirm pauses are the right length.

Now, purely for your learning (because you asked), your intonation is not quite right on 'provocative' - the stress is on the second syllable. This link has some examples of how it sounds https://dictionary.cambridge.org/pronunciation/english/provocative
Also, poignant (you do get difficult words in your Fables by the way!) treats the g as a y (probably because it comes from the French language). https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/poignant But I emphasise these are VERY small things and your readings are lovely to listen to.

Silences in Librivox recordings do seem to be causing a lot of difficulty, especially that full 5 secs at the end. Not 4, not 4.5 and please not 5.9, 6 or more either  It's important to have the right length.

If you use Audacity, here is a really quick and easy way to check.

1. Select the space at the end of your recording, so that it is highlighted in Audacity. It doesn't matter whether you select from the end or the beginning, but you must have the flat line (it should be flat) after the voice stops, and up to the end of the recording highlighted. If you need to 'nudge' it a bit, hover your cursor above or below the line on the edge of the highlighted section, until a pointing hand appears. Now click your cursor, and use the hand to increase the highlight a bit or reduce it.

2, Now, look at the bottom of the Audacity window, where it says Start and Length of Selection. There will be 2 lots of figures. Ignore the one on the left, it's only the one on the right you care about. It should read as close to 5.0 as possible. No guessing, because Audacity will tell you exactly the length of your silence.
Too long? cut it back and check again. Too short? Add a bit and check again.

I hope this helps! I don't want to keep having to be the 5-seconds-at-the-end-police

Fails the 5 secs at end test completely. Pity, as nicely read as usual.
