Hello bdanzige,

Thanks for your comment. I've updated my 1-minute test according to Kitty/Sonia's suggestions.
Given that this will be my first recording, I also recorded the poem and uploaded it here:
https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_adrianstephens_completepoeticalworks_07_poe_128kb.mp3

I realize this is not following the usual process, but thought you might want a chance to listen before assigning to me.

Yours sincerely,
Adrian Stephens

The quality of the recording seems fine. I did not listen to the whole recording though, theProof Listener would do that once you upload it as a regular file. The volume is a bit low so please amplify that. I will add you to the catalogue and assign the section to you. How would you want to be called?

Hi!
Welcome to librivox :D. I see that you're1-min-test is Ok so all I need to know is what you want you're catalogue name to be so I can set you up and assign you the sections.
We're happy to have you here!
Thanks! Can my catalogue name just be the same as my username, ps510? I will probably say my full name at the beginning of recordings, but for the forums I'd like to just stick with ps510. Does the catalogue name serve any other purpose than assigning sections in the MW?

EDITED: Actually, I would like to use my real name (Preety Sidhu) now that I know where this shows up. Please and thank you!

It's what shows up on the catalog pages (such as HERE), and what is transferred to Archive.org as your reader name in the description to say who read in that particular project.

Yes, the catalog name can be the same as your forum name, or it could be a pseudonym, or your real name. Your choice. :)

Section 81 for PL .... 1:33

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/completepoeticalworks_81_poe_128kb.mp3

Helen,

I'm not sure you have ever DPL'd a dramatic reading before? ... if you have just ignore everything I wrote below ... if not, then this should be helpful.

Sections 79 through 98 are all of the individual roles for the drama "Politian", scenes 1 through 5 that are in sections 35 - 39. (including the person who reads the stage directions)

When you PL these individual roles they are different then PL'ing as normal:

1) There will be no intro and outro as usual. Instead the reader will normally just say "(role) read by (reader). In my case that is "Di Broglio read by Nemo". The intro and outro for each finished scene will normally be done by the person doing the stage directions.

2) While still a STD PL, you will need to follow along with the text. This is to make sure that the reader does not miss any lines - which does happen a bit. This way you catch them and get them corrected and when the editor ( Larry) puts all the pieces together he does not have to look for missing lines and go back to the reader to record again.

3) There should be a couple of seconds of silence in between each line a reader records. This makes Larry's job of putting everything together so much easier when he cuts and pastes if he doesn't have to try and squeeze in between lines. if you see a reader does not leave enough space, it is OK to ask them to insert more and upload again.

4) Sometimes inside a role, there will be stage directions like "turning away", "speaking loudly", etc. These will be recorded by the reader doing stage directions, not by the reader doing that specific role. In these cases, there should also be a couple seconds of silence left for Larry to cut and paste as well.

5) Once you have PL'd OK all of the role sections, Larry will piece them all together and upload the finished final scenes. Then you will PL those as well.

I think that is basically it. I hope this is helpful and if you have any questions, please ask!

BTW: Imitation (section 58) has a typo. After checking several other websites, I replaced "wordly" with "worldly" in line 17.
