The way the General and many salvationists were treated initially is so true to how obedient believers who truly loved God and men have been treated from the Hebrew prophets through the Apostles and many others right into our own time.

Amen. And initially it was even worse in Scandinavia - - - until the authorities woke up and realized the positive results realized from the dedication and efforts of the Salvationists.

So interesting as well as inspiring. I've just recently read some history of India and am not the least surprised that the Salvation Army couldn't treat the sub-continent as a single unit; historically there were so many different kingdoms with morphing borders over the years that I couldn't keep track of them all. The poor opponents of partition in the Congress Party didn't have much of a historical leg to stand on, but I still find the reason for partition to be one of the great tragedies of history.
