Here's the recording ready for PL: https://librivox.org/uploads/kathrinee/drdolittlespostoffice_goldenjayleader_6_128kb.mp3
Thanks Adrian, this is PL OK, and a lovely story he tells here too! Thanks for reading him!

If you wanted to take a part in some of the other sections, we have a Master-At-Arms or Executive Officer in S1 and S2, and/or the Emir of Ellebubu (the chief of the enemy tribe) in S13. These would be non-overlapping roles so you could have two of them if you liked.

https://librivox.org/uploads/kathrinee/drdolittlespostoffice_drdolittle_1_128kb.mp3

it runs 2:28

it is a version of Doctor Dolittle a little closer to his West Country roots (I hope). it is different form my previous performance. see what you think. any feedback is welcome.
Thanks Mark, this is PL OK - I think as I get used to the voice it grows on me! I agree it's a bit different from the previous version, but it suits the slightly more serious material in this book.

Absolutely! I think the community we have here is almost my favorite thing about LV! :9:

Thanks, Elizabby.
Please put me down for all of those roles. I'd prefer the EO to the Master at arms, but I can try to do both and use a different voice for the two.

Non over lapping roles only, so I will put you in as the executive officer! And the Ellemir of Ellebubu - they appear in different sections, thanks!

Please note that since the insertion of the Prologue, S13 now appears in Section 14, etc.

No, the numbers will revert back to what they were, once we can get the prologue renumbered as 0 instead of 1.

Oh, but for now, until Katherine is able to make that change, you're right, it may be confusing. :hmm: Drat. Ah, well.

I found it confusing doing the PLing, just because the script numbers don’t match - finding the correct scripts is key!

I noted the later comment about renumbering, so I've used the original section numbers.
Ready for PL.
Emir: https://librivox.org/uploads/kathrinee/drdolittlespostoffice_emir_13_128kb.mp3
EO: https://librivox.org/uploads/kathrinee/drdolittlespostoffice_executiveofficer_1_128kb.mp3
and https://librivox.org/uploads/kathrinee/drdolittlespostoffice_executiveofficer_2_128kb.mp3

I am not convinced by the marking of EO in section 2. The first sentence is supposed to be gunners and the
"“twopenny-halfpenny Fantippo red,”" could be anybody. The highlighting was creative in the latter.
Regardless, I recorded these in the above.

Thanks Adrian. Yes, you're right about the voice parts. Rather than creating an entirely new role for a single nameless line, though, I decided to use minor characters to voice that/those line(s). Especially since your voice will be combined with others. I think you'll be surprised by the final result.

Thanks Adrian, the Executive Officer is PL OK! I take your point about the overlapping, but it is easier to fill 3 roles of 3 lines each than to get 9 different people to read 1 line each! So we tend to double up of the voices, especially when it is a "crowd scene" with a few people speaking at once.

The Emir is missing about half his lines - he has a lot more to say in the next chapter, so please keep going! Also, the Emir needs to appear in the "Crowd Lines" as well - you can put these at the start or end of your file, we will find them!

The trailer for the movie. 'Dolittle', with Robert Downey Jnr, has just dropped.

With luck, the following link will work:

https://youtu.be/FEf412bSPLs

Otherwise, it's a simple search: Dolittle Official Trailer

I do note with interest the voice that RDJ uses. He and I have made the same choice!

Canny fellow ;)

It looks like a good film; can't wait to see it

Interesting! It's not Dr Dolittle as I imagined him (neither is Rex Harrison) but I think I'll take my kids to see it - they will be thrilled to see Polynesia, and see if she sounds the same as when I voiced her! ;)

I expect I'll go see it. However, I can't help but remark that neither Rex Harrison nor RDJ is a little round man, as John Dolittle is repeatedly described.

Ah, I thought the marker had had a wobbly there. I didn't realize it was a mark for multiple speakers. All is now pellucid.
About the Emir - bummer. I'll get back to you with the back side of the Emir.
