Not too much Esperanto here. More than I expected, though. It still is very popular and a going concern in some circles.

I was going to do that one. I'll look at the chapters more closely when I actually wake up.

Do you think you might record both the Preface and Chapter One together?

Of course, it's entirely up to you.

i will read in german:
Die 14 glücklichen Tage
https://archive.org/details/gespenstersagenu00lamouoft/page/32

book: Gespenstersagen und Rittergeschichten published 1922 https://archive.org/details/gespenstersagenu00lamouoft/page/n7

by (not in catalogue) Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué 1777-1843 https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrich_de_la_Motte_Fouqu%C3%A9
(archive suggests the more complicated La Motte-Fouqué, Friedrich Heinrich Karl, Freiherr de, 1777-1843,
wikipedia says the correct noble title should be Friedrich Heinrich Karl Baron de la Motte Fouqué
or fully written: Friedrich Heinrich Karl Baron de la Motte Fouqué, Baron de Thonnayboutonne, Baron de Saint-Surin, Seigneur de la Greve)

Of course, it's entirely up to you.
O, I see that you mentioned an interest in it earlier.
So... Hey, it's your project (sort of), so your dibs... go for it. 8-)
I can look at some of the other suggestions instead.
It might take a bit of looking; one of the items was in very old English (or something) and I couldn't make it out at all.
I'll check back...LJB

I could do this one:
14,000 miles a carriage and two women
https://archive.org/details/gb8AK2WqPv1UIC
How about Chapter 14 (p.228)?
(Or Chapter 1, if there's some sort of rule to do only the first part of a long work.)
