The file is uploaded: Checker says its 89.2 dB and that its actually 40:3:55 in length.

I'm getting it. I figured out how to use "equalizer" to adjust my mic input so that should help things!
It is PL OK! Good for you for sticking with it and figuring things out!

Hi Aparna,

Nice job!

There is one issue, however - the volume is to low at 81.5 DB. We need it to be between 86 and 92 DB.

You have some splosives in your recording (that were also mentioned for your test), and they will prevent you from doing a straight amplification of the file. You will need to de-amplify the spikes before you amplify. If you need help on how to do this, let me know.

If you could fix this and reupload, that would be great!

Hi Maria,

Here is the link for updated file
https://librivox.org/uploads/m8b1/csw029_uglyduckling_ab_128kb.mp3

I used Equalizer, noisecancelling and amplify on the file. I have also checked the db level using Checker. It's 90.5 now.

Please let me know if it is better now.

Thanks,
Aparna
