Thank you :D
Hi Ana,

You did not provide a link to a recording, or a link to the text. I am not able to do anything unless I have a link to the recording! :-)

I have copied the upload instructions below. Please be sure to follow the file naming scheme that is noted, and upload the file to my folder - m8b1 - then post the link the uploader gives you in a reply to this thread. I will then listen to it for any mistakes. Thanks!
[*] Save or export your recording to an mp3 file at 128kbps using the following filename:[/b]
  • File Name: Put file name all in lowercase, and the title all in one word (no leading articles i.e. the, a, an, and NO SPACES): csw029_shorttitleinoneword_readersinitials_128kb.mp3,
    e.g. csw029_scarletgiantbean_ge_128kb.mp3
[/list]

3. SUBMIT your recording:
Please upload your finished recording using the LibriVox uploader (when your upload is complete, you will receive a link - please copy to post in this thread):

Hi Chad,

I'm sorry, but we only accept stand alone stories for this collection, not individual chapters which are interconnected to the other chapters in a book. Sorry!

AnaP wrote: July 24th, 2019, 1:04 am hi, Ana here!

i found the information you requested.

https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/39871

https://librivox.org/uploads/m8b1/csw029_theelectricalerror_ap_128kb.mp3,e_.gcsw029_bikeytheskicylcleandothertalesofjimmieboy_ge_128kb_.mp3

I would like it to be called The Electrical Error

thank you :D :P
Hi Ana,

Thanks! You did a nice job reading it!

There are a few issues that need to be fixed.

First a technical issue. The sample rate need to be 44,100 hz, yours is 16,000 hz.

Also the volume is a bit on the low side. It just passes our requirements, but even with my volume all the way up it is on the low side. If you could amplify it by a few DB that would be great! If you need help figuring out how to fix the technical things, let me know and I will send some links your way! :-)

Onto the recording itself.

From the beginning to 1:18 needs to be completely cut out. The recording starts all over again @1:18 - just a big repeat! :-)
Also, in the intro and the outro you said the title of the book, which we do not need. We just need the title of the story. The intros and outros are a little different for story collections then a chapter in a entire book.

It should go like this:

At the BEGINNING Say: "An Electrical Error, by John Kendrick Bangs" "This is a Librivox recording. All Librivox Recordings are in the public domain. For more information or to volunteer, please visit Librivox.org"

At the END, say: "End of An Electrical Error, by John Kendrick Bangs"
If you wish, you may also say: "Read by...your name."

Also @ 12:27, right before the outro, there is a loud click. Since you already need to edit, if you could snip that out, that would be great!

If you could fix these issues and reupload, that would be great!

Oh, and one last thing. For some reason your file name has a lot of extra stuff at the end. Please make sure to name it just like this when you reupload: csw029_anelectricalerror_ap_128kb

Thanks!
Maria
