The Magic Wand by Tudor Jenks (1857 - 1922).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-magic-wand-by-tudor-jenks/
Three short children's fantasy stories. The stories are light and humorous and can spark a child's imagination. Part of a six-volume set. ( Gillian Hendrie)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/magicwand00jenk
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Can we change it to "Section" rather than "Chapter"? I forgot to do this before posting. Sorry!

Gill,

I can MC this for you.

MW is set up and tested.

In this case I think that "Story" would be more fitting than Chapter and have edited the first post to reflect that. To edit any of your posts, click on the pencil icon at the top right corner of that post.

Story 2 is PL OK, and I will mark it so unless you wish to work on a short section within the recording that sounds very hollow in relation to the rest. I mention this only because the reading is really very fine and that part stands out to its disadvantage.

God help me if I've broken a LivriVox rule in pointing this out, or a rule of etiquette, but I've taken the story's message to heart.

Thanks. I'll have a listen. Where is the section?

It sounds like you either you stopped recording and came back to it later with a slightly different configuration or used two different noise cleaning settings. There is a difference, but the overall recording is very understandable the decision to make changes is up to the reader.
