Bruce.
Thank you Bruce.
You seemed to have been in a fine, declamatory mood when you recorded this recitation!
Thanks to a welcome gap in my morning schedule, your reading went straight from the On-Ramp to PL OK!

Time 1:12

Have a good weekend!

Brian
Thank you very much, Brian!
It will be proofed during the weekend.
Good Morning!

I apologize in advance if I'm jumping the gun here, but it looks like I may have gotten missed back on Page 2? I also noticed that perhaps user 'supersera' might have been as well.

Thanks!

Brian

Brian, Sarah,

Fine readings!
After giving them a PL OK, I tried to rearrange a couple of the sections so as to be in alphabetical order by initials.
Your and Sarah Space's listings didn't just change position, they went into an alternate universe!
Yours and Sarah's offerings are now correctly present and accounted for: PL OK !

I apologize for my growing pains!

Thank you, Kudrna.

Your recitation is word perfect, but there are a couple of technical issues to be dealt with before it can be given the PL OK status:
  • At the end of your file, there are only 4 seconds of silence. LV insists on 5.
  • At the beginning of your file, there should be a period of silence between .5 and 1.o seconds. You have only a tiny bit more than that, so it won't stop the file from being PL OK if you don't fix it. But, you should know about this requirement for the future.
  • The Checker program shows that the volume of the file is 93.2db. LV aims for 89db. Please lower the volume of your file. This is very easy to do with the Audacity audio editing program. The Checker program is available for free on the internet. You should get and use it.
I edited the lenght of silence, both at the beginning and the end. But I've already used the Checker before and it says the volume is 89.4dB (now it has fallen to 89.1dB, probably because of the added silence). I've got the 0.96 version of Checker but I'm not sure if the posibility that it's somehow outdated could make the difference. I also downloaded the recording I posted from the browser to look if it doesn't change but the volume of both recordings, the one at my PC and the downloaded, are completely the same (according to my Checker, 89.4 db) :hmm:
Here's the edited version:

If your Checker still says it's too loud, I'll lower it. But I've already checked my 1 minute test with it and got the OK. I really don't know where could be the problem. :/

Not at all, and thank you! It's good to be back from the alternate universe.

Have a good week!

My version of Checker shows a volume of 89.1 -- which is quite acceptable.
Each recording you make needs to be run thru Checker - recording environments and human voices change over time, including sometimes between morning and evening.

Your offering is now PL OK

It looks like there are still a few open spots, so here's another recording:
