The Luggage of Life by Frank W. Boreham (1871 - 1959).

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-luggage-of-life-by-frank-w-boreham/

This collection contains 32 essays by the respected Baptist preacher Frank Boreham. Writing on topics that range from falling in love to eating sandwiches at a church meeting, Boreham seeks to encourage and inspire Christian believers around the world. ( Devorah Allen)
  1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
  2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    .
  3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    .
  4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.158424
    .
  5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I'm starting a new job on October 7! I'm so excited! :9: The downside is, even less recording time. :( But I am still around!

Great! Well, the MW is all filled out, and I've chosen one section for myself. I may take on more later, but I do have a large backlog, and anyway I haven't decided which other(s) I want.

Now we just need a DPL.

Greetings -

I have wanted to read some of Boreham's work for some time. I can now read it and perform a service at the same time. What a concept!

I'll read the introduction please! I may read more of the book but I'll have to skim through it first. My voice isn't the best at the moment so I can't commit to anything too long.

Thank you! Happy to have you, even if it's just the intro. :)

Glad to see this one!

I'll hold off on claims for now until I can catch up a bit on other projects.
I just saw a new one pop up on Gutenberg:
Rubble and Roseleaves http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/59180

ETA: Ah, I just saw on the other thread that this did not slip by you!
All the more to look forward to. :D

I saw that, too, thanks Larry! So there'll be at least one more for us after this, and I may have another source (that is, very knowledgeable person who's involved in reprinting old out-of-print PD books) who could find me some more.

When and if you decide to pick something up here, I'd be happy to have you. Up to you, of course, and what your schedule allows.

Greetings -

Just a note to let folks know that I will be away for my Pling station for a week beginning Sunday, April 14th. I will make sure everything is up-to-date on Saturday night. Feel free to PL any sections that might come in during that time period if they can't wait until I get back.

I will be visiting "The Town They Liked So Well They Named It Twice". How many of you know where that is?

Well, let me go ahead and put in a claim for one section to get started -- Section 2 -- to keep this on my radar. But, I'll get to it soon.
