COMPLETE[PLAY] The Drummer, or, The Haunted House - thw
Nicely fixed - all PL OK now as you note, Beth.
By the way, Devorah, you talk about synchronizing tracks. Do you actually edit with each reader on a different track? I sometimes do that for very short sections where there are multiple simultaneous speakers, but I never do that for long sections - I cut and paste everything into a single track. I can see where for something like the volume change for a single character at the beginning of Act 2 it would be very convenient to be able to change volume of an entire track instead of having to adjust each line spoken by the character you want to boost or quiet.
Thanks, Todd

No, I put them all on one track except for a few instances where I may want one voice to actually interrupt and play over another. For instance, in the Abigail/Vellum scene in Act 3, I had Abigail's laughs begin before Vellum's laughs had ended. I don't often have more than two tracks, because I (now) use them only or almost only for these kinds of interruptions. If there are any lines that are truly unison, I generally build those tracks in a separate window, export it, and then insert the already mixed voices.
Ah, okay, that process sounds like what I do as well. Except I have never tried using a separate window for unison lines - that could be handy to try. You really had those interrupting and speaking-over places absolutely perfectly done.
(When you fixed Act 3's volume mismatch so quickly, I thought you had a way to do adjust volume for all of Sir George or Vellum at one time - but you must have "just" used lightening speed to find and adjust every single line in that scene one by one! Wow.)
Thanks, Todd

Did you reach a verdict? Or did something happen to interrupt?
I think it must have been PL OK, as it is marked so in the MW and it wasn’t me!
So if you are happy with the summary I think we are ready for the catalogue!
(Todd should probably appear in the catalogue as the DPL, as he did the final PLing in the end.)

Sorry, don't know what happened to my reply. (Ah, I edited the wrong post. Removed now.)
Yes, PL OK. Very nice work. And don't worry about the DPL role - PL'ing all the individual parts counts even more than just listening to the final so I see no need to change from Elizabby as DPL.
However, do you want to do a cast list before I catalog?
Thanks, Todd
(Note that the Archive text you used here has two more plays by Addison. Going to do one of them next?)

Oh yes, I forgot about a cast list! I could have had that done yesterday! I'm just about to leave in a little while for a few hours. I'll try to put that together when I get home. I might even be able to do it from my phone, but I'm not sure how well that will work.
I did see those other two plays, but they both seem to be tragedies in a very different vein to this, and didn't really appeal to me much. I've just launched a new DR anyway, so won't have much time for another play.

What about stage directions? (None listed in MW at this point)

Ok, I added myself to the code above. I seem to always leave myself out... Ah well, you guys were the stars of the show anyway! I do know that my voice credit was in the prologue. So I think we're really, really good to go now! (Fingers crossed.)
This project is complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-drummer-or-the-haunted-house-by-joseph-addison/
