Running this one through a volume checker, it needs to come UP about 6 dB, and its bit rate is incorrect also. See my previous post for how to fix the bit rate. :)

I'll listen to this one tomorrow. Thanks!

Hi TriciaG,

Sorry about the recording level. I had reduced the level 5 dB, but it didn't stick. I also exported at 128 kbps, so I don't know why that isn't what you see. Besides those requirements and the 5 seconds at the end, per your suggestion, I also increased the silence between paragraphs and as needed. I also corrected a word error.

I am using Adobe Audition with a Yeti mic. In the Mixer I set the output to Mono. Then I select "File > Export > Mutlitrack Mixdown> Entire Session." I select mp3 as the file type, which allows me to use the "Change" option to set the bitrate at 128 kbps. Because of your corncern, I reimported the mp3 and viewed it with the spectrum analyzer, which shows a hard cutoff at 16 kHz, consistent with a 128 kbps bitrate according to this website:

https://appuals.com/how-to-determine-the-true-bitrate-of-any-audio-file/

How are you assessing the bitrate and the volume level? Thank you for any information you can provide.

I'm using the Checker program, which is handy tool made specifically for LibriVox. Unfortunately, the web page it's on is returning a 404 Page Not Found error, so I cannot direct you to it.

However, going to Windows - File Properties - Details for the file shows the bit rate as 192 kbps.
And when I use MP3Gain to measure the volume, it returns the volume as 94.5 dB (with clipping).

Welcome!

There are no chapters 9 and 10 that aren't already either assigned or recorded. Sections 9 and 10 (Introduction, parts 5 and 6) are assigned to another reader; Sections 46-53, which are chapters 9 and 10 in the work, are all recorded.

Please scroll down in the Magic Window to sections that are light blue in color, and the last column says "open." I think they start down around section 73.

In the meantime, please do the 1-minute test to make sure your setup is correct and giving you the right volume, bit rate, and other settings for recording. ;)
