The Clock Struck One by Fergus Hume (1859 - 1932).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-clock-struck-one-by-fergus-hume/
Fergus Hume was a prolific writer of Victorian murder mysteries and The Clock Struck One is another great example of his inventive plots. Julian Edermont living in near seclusion for the last 20 years fearful of an unknown assailant is beaten to death in his study following an argument with his ward's fiance Dr. Allen Scott. The secret revealed to Allen during this argument is such that he breaks off his engagement to Dora refusing to reveal the cause. Since those around her seem unwilling to share what they know it is up to Dora to discover the truth and unmask the murderer of her guardian. ( Celine Major)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/55689
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

The Archive text is from Gutenberg. You could probably just use Gutenberg as your source: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/55689 :)

I'd say go ahead and change it in the first post. Your MC will have to change it in the database when they set up the project, since it's already in the data encapsulated in that project code. ;)

Celine,

I can MC this for you.

The MW is set up, the first post edited slightly, and the database entry for the text source has been updated.

I am moving this over to "Going Solo."

Please select a few keywords that describe this book before we get to cataloging.

Thank you David.
I assume you would like me to summarize my summary and I'll be very happy to do that. :D
Cheers!

The summary looks fine to me, but you can adjust it if you desire.

The keywords are used for searches on Archive.org. Anything you think of that describes this book that is not in the title or author’s name.

Thanks again David.
