Can I please give back Chapters 11 and 12? :help: I'm sorry... I was greedy when I signed up. Lesson learned, I won't do it again! I'm sorry!
I don't mind picking up 11 and 12. If that's alright.

That's fine! Always better to recognize you've bitten off more than you can chew! We've all been there!

Here is Chapter 9: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/cowardlylionofoz_09_thompson_128kb.mp3 (19:13)
Chapter 10 I'll record soon.
Nichalia,

I found one thing wrong with your chapter; the silence at the beginning is just 1/10th of a second. For consistency with other LibriVox recordings this should be approximately half a second. Unless Elizabby says this is all right, I recommend you edit .4 to .5 seconds of silence to the very beginning and upload the file again. The rest of your recording is word-for-word perfect and your volume, noise level, etc. are spot on.

Elizabby, is that very short opening silence OK, or should it be changed?

That's fine - it's more of an issue if the opening silence is too long!

This file can be marked PL OK! Nice work Nichalia!

at around 3:16 into the recording there's a double pop, or click, or suchlike. I'm not sure what caused it, and I'm not about to reject a chapter over that. I have absolutely nothing else to complain about. Therefore:

Chapter 11 - A Strange Fishing Party - is PL OK.

I have a very serious hour chapter to listen to in another book tomorrow morning, and then I'll get to Chapter 12.

Thanks Aaron.

Mid chapter the text says Notta pushed his feathers back under his chap - I really suspect this is a transcription error at Gutenberg (or maybe a printers error when the book was published) and what Ruth Plumly Thompson wrote was cap. In my humbel opinion, you were quite correct to read the word as cap.

At around 13:45 I heard another of the clip / pop sounds. Also near 14:52. I still can't guess what's causing them. I think it sounds like something electrical, but no matter, they are minor flaws.

Chapter 12 - Saved by a Flyaboutabus - is PL OK.

You're right - this is a marvelous book! Thanks again.

Thanks for the PLs. I'm not sure about the pops. I'll have to keep my ears open in the future.

There are heaps of Oz books and Oz sequels in the catalogue already - I've been working on them for a while now!

There are also dramatized readings of the first two Oz books - my kids love DRs! The Wizard of Oz and Marvelous Land of Oz.

In the sequels I like Wishing Horse of Oz and the one about a flying pig - forget the title though. The Royal family tree one about the Scarecrow is an interesting adventure but has some rather racist overtones for modern audiences - lots of Asian stereotypes.

I've actually read most of the original Oz books to my kids. They definitely love them. Haven't gotten in the Thompson ones yet - but I'd love to help with DRs of them all!
